Arabic/Oriental Club Salsa Holidays
Arabic Dance is a lyrical, graceful and robust expression of female sensuality using your hips, torso and arms to express the boldness of the female form. Traditionally, the dance is handed down from mother to daughter within the family, as an entertainment for women by women within the home environment.. Whether playing with the mysterious veil or learning to isolate different parts of the body, the core of this course is establishing a connection with your Body, your Breath and the Earth. You cannot help but be drawn in to this dance! Our dance courses offer something for everyone.

A bit of history

The terms Arabic Dance & Oriental Dance cover dance of the Middle East & North Africa, from Turkey in the North to Nubia in the South, Egypt in the centre, Morocco in the West and Persia in the East. Raqs Sharqi (meaning ‘Eastern Dance’ in Arabic) is a dance tradition of Egypt with a purist focus on the dance legacy of the Upper Nile. In recent times, Arabic Dance has become known in the West in its Cabaret Performance Art form, under the name of Belly Dance.

All these styles embrace a wide variety of styles, from the stately elegant grace of Oriental Dance to the earthy dynamic of Folk Dance, from exuberant flamboyance to delicate intricacy. The moves echo the drama and passion of the music, sinuous, sensuous and powerful.
